Cellular window shades operate like regular roller shades. Instead of a flat piece of material, however, cellular shades have a pleated, honeycomb design.
The cells in these shades basically hold air in and prevent it from either coming in or escaping from your room. So if you’ve had the heater on at night during a cold snap, cellular shades help retain heat and maintain room temperature during the day. Conversely, the sun’s warmth can’t reach your room in summer because the cellular window shades are absorbing it.
These window treatments can be customized, with widths ranging from 8” to 174” and heights from 6” to 192”.
The signature feature is the cellular structure, which can be tailored with single or double cell configurations and a variety of pleat sizes. Our custom cellular shades come in 4 different opacities. What’s more, they can also be paired with vertical cellular shades for larger windows. You get even more versatility with our varied lift systems, including Top Down/Bottom Up, allowing you to position your cellular window shades wherever you want.
If you want to increase your home’s energy efficiency (and decrease your utility bills), cellular shades are a great choice. Use them in any room where extra insulation would be beneficial.
Top-down bottom-up shades are shades that can be lowered from the top of the window, or raised from the bottom of the window. They offer the best of both worlds in light and privacy control.
