We hired them to put roller shades in some very large (5 feet by 9 feet) windows in our kitchen / dining nook, and they did an excellent job. The kitchen has south-facing windows, which helps keep the house warm in winter but also lets in the blinding sun when working in the kitchen or eating, and the new shades make this area much more usable. We went with the motorized battery-powered shades with a remote control. We really like the look of these shades; when they are rolled up the mechanism is hidden behind a little fascia and they look like part of the window trim rather than an add-on. Our designer, Rochelle Wilson, came out a few days after we called with two big sample books and did a good job of explaining our options and letting us compare different fabrics. The installer, Scott Visger, came out a few days later to check the measurements, and then after the shades were manufactured to install them. Scott was on-time, unobtrusive, and careful to clean up everything while he was installing. He also went over the operation and maintenance of the shades. Stoneside is a full-service company; they come to you and let you pick what you want, then they manufacture it and install it. Total time from first contact to installation was just under two months, which I thought was fast. Your time may vary; the availability of fabrics seems to be the big variable. Our fabric was originally shown to be available immediately, then backordered 3 months, then available immediately again, so that they were actually installed on the original projected date. Rochelle kept us up-to-date during all this. Stoneside has a free electronic book "The Ultimate Guide to Window Treatments" that you can get from their web site (but which adds you to their mailing list). It has lots of useful details about the different kinds of treatments Stoneside offers, including some guidelines about the best choices for particular types of rooms. We got a voucher for free installation (limited time, minimum purchase) which I think came with the book or their electronic newsletter.
